We Wrote You a Devotional!

We Wrote You a Devotional!

We apologize for the long break but for us to get this out to you we had to really focus! We are made up of a small team here and most of us have full time jobs or private practices that we use to put food on the table.

The devotional became a priory after many readers requested something that they could study individually or in their small group that had the same spirit of our posts and blogs. So, sometimes you just must lay things down and give the people what they want!

This little devotional was written by a team of folks – married, single, stay-at-home parents, working parents, health care professionals, but most importantly children of God. We all care about the same thing – helping others heal in their relationship with food and fully embrace their unique bodies, which were meant to be different shapes and sizes. We believe that every BODY is a good body!

We deeply care about your health and well-being. We are all for balanced meals and enjoyable forms of physical activity. We also believe that food should be a source of pleasure. Food brings people together, creating fellowship and connection. Food is meant to be celebrated, savored, and enjoyed. God gave us a wide variety of food options to make the eating experience pleasurable and nourishing. He made our bodies in such a way that they function best with a wide variety of colors, textures, and flavors.

Food matters.

However, as a culture, it seems we’ve all taken food concerns a bit too far. We’re seeing a diet-crazed, thin-obsessed culture that’s headed down a dark path. We wrote this book in an effort to redirect our brothers and sisters in Christ down a healthier, more fulfilling path. We felt God’s gentle nudge to write this book so that worrisome thoughts over food can be replaced with thoughts of self-love, love for others, and love for Jesus.

Our hope for you is that through this daily devotional, you will find the courage to stop stressing about food and start putting it back into its place as just one minor piece of your life. We pray for complete healing from struggles surrounding food, exercise and body image. Jesus came so that peace and love would reign over war and hate. As a culture, we are at war with our bodies. We declare body peace to reign over body hate.

To do our part, we’ve weaved together scriptures, words of encouragement, analogies, and prayers to shine a light on a counter-cultural message that we believe will bring health, wholeness, and healing to Christian communities.

We have prayed for you, dear reader, before your journey even began. In His name, we prayed that you would be astounded by His everlasting love for you and that you would have the courage to walk away from dieting forever and find your way to healing and wholeness.

We are SO EXCITED for the freedom that is about to happen for the people who read this! We are letting you (our most faithful readers) be the first to enjoy the first 3 day’s of the devotional before we release it! Click below to fill out the form and we will send it straight to your inbox!

Nicole resides in the East Bay Area where she works in private practice as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist. She is a Mom of two and serves alongside her beloved husband in their local church. Most recently she's devoted her time to cleft and craniofacial awareness, education and interventions when her second daughter was unexpectedly diagnosed with a cleft palate at one week old. She completed both her bachelor's degree and her dietetic internship at California State University, Chico, where she was also a NCAA cross country and track athlete. Through those experiences, God prompted her to help people of all shapes and sizes discover health, body peace and acceptance through the unconditional love of Jesus. Nicole most enjoys spending time around a table and eating delicious food with the people she loves.
